The Gisele Pelicot case

Like lots of other people, I've been following the Gisele Pelicot case with a huge mix of feelings. Admiration for the strength of Madame Pelicot, revulsion for the rape of her by so many guys. And at the same time, some thrill by the thought of what her husband had done.

The idea of sharing your wife is nothing new, and I've done that and been part of others doing that, but everyone was always awake, and consent was freely and obviously given. And I confess that in my youth, I took advantage of a couple of very drunk girls. Then I read that pictures were found in a folder marked 'my naked daughter' of his own daughter. She has no recollection of this, nor even if she was raped by her father or others.

I've two daughters of my own. The 'pictures' I have of them naked are only in my mind. But as a Dad, and despite everything I know about Monsieur Pelicot, I have an understanding of his desires.  I'd be very surprised if it stopped at pictures without touching.

Some people might hate me for this post, but I figured that this was the right group to say the unmentionabke, the dirty thoughts I can't admit to elsewhere.
